Part Time English Language Arts Teacher Job Description

CB is an adult high school program serving students age 18 years and older.  Upon completion of 22/23 credits, CB students are conferred a Jeffco High School diploma.

TITLE:  PART TIME LANGUAGE ARTS TEACHER, LICENSE REQUIRED, (Non-Negotiated Position-Salary T-27)

Endorsement:  English Language Arts

Program Assignment – Part time Competency Based (Adult High School)

Availability- Could be 2, 3, or 4, nights a week -6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday –Thursday nights

Description:

McLain Community High School is seeking a part time English language arts teacher who is dedicated to the teaching profession and helping students of all ages and abilities to succeed.  This position requires commitment to alternative educational approaches, teamwork, and a thorough knowledge of District standards.

Qualifications:

1.      Valid Colorado teacher license or certificate with endorsement and supporting hours and/or experience in Language Arts.

Special Work Requirements:

1.      Work a flex schedule evenings.

2.      Work in a cooperative decision-making environment with other programs and building staff.

3.      Compile, analyze and interpret data to enhance learning.

Preferred Work Experience With:

1.      Adults 18 years old and older

2.      At- risk, non-traditional populations

3.      Alternative scheduling and settings

4.      Advising and guiding students in individualized goal-setting

5.      Knowledge of classroom instruction, accounting systems and procedures

6.      Collecting and analyzing data.
