Job Summary
The Human Resources Director will lead and manage the HR department, ensuring the development and implementation of strategies and initiatives that support the overall business plan. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and hands-on approach to oversee all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labor laws. As a key partner to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the HR Director will foster an inclusive and high-performing culture.
What does a typical day look like?
- Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's objectives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
- Talent Acquisition and Management: Plan the organization’s human capital needs, overseeing and enhancing the recruitment process to attract and retain top talent. Implement effective onboarding, training, and development programs to enhance employee performance and growth.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees on HR-related matters. Promote a positive work environment through effective conflict resolution and employee engagement initiatives.
- Compliance and Policy Development: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Develop and update HR policies and procedures as needed.
- Compensation and Benefits: Manage compensation structures and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and equity within the market.
- Performance Management: Implement and oversee performance management programs, including coaching, corrective action, and appraisal systems to drive high performance and address developmental needs.
- HR Operations Excellence: Leverage HRIS platforms (e.g. ADP) and workforce analytics to optimize decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.
- Cross-Border HR Collaboration: Partner with HR teams from JCAP’s global sites to ensure seamless alignment of policies, processes, and cultural integration across regions.
- Ad hoc tasks: Perform additional duties as required to support HR operations and organizational goals.
What qualifications are required for this position?
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a combination of schooling and experience will be considered. SHRM or HRCI Certification are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years directly related Human Resources, with progressive experience and/or responsibilities; at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Demonstrated success in partnering with executive teams to develop and implement HR strategies
- Payroll processing experience within ADP is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Forms, and Teams
- Thorough knowledge of federal and state employment laws
- Expertise in leveraging HRIS platforms and HR analytics to support decision-making
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations
- Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills
- Proven ability to exercise the utmost discretion in matters of confidentiality
- Strong organizational, problem solving, project management and follow-up skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to navigate multi-jurisdictional HR challenges and foster cultural alignment across regions
- Strategic thinker with the ability to solve complex HR challenges
- Satisfactory completion of background check including criminal, credit and professional references
