The Medical Director for Youth Residential Recovery will provide medical oversight and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders for youth admitted to Youth Residential Recovery. Youth Residential Recovery (YRR) is the only ASAM level 3.5 program for adolescents ages 13-18.5 in Colorado. This position is approximately 20 hours a week of direct work, plus availability by phone / text 24 / 7. The direct work is on-site or a hybrid of on-site and remote. This position is salaried and includes the full benefit package of Jefferson Center, including health, dental and life insurance, paid holidays and Paid Annual Leave.
This role reports to the Chief Medical Officer and is also accountable to the Manager and Director of YRR. This role does not include management or supervision of other staff but does involve providing medical education to YRR staff.
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required :
- MD or DO degree
- Successful completion of an emergency medicine or primary care residency and corresponding board certification
- Experience working with acute and chronic medical conditions and substance use disorders in adolescents with co-occurring psychiatric disorders
- Knowledgeable and current regarding general medicine, urgent care medicine, and evidence-based MAT
- 3-5 years experience in primary care, emergency medicine, and / or addictions medicine preferred
- RN degree (or equivalent), Masters Degree in Nursing, FNP-BC, PNP-BC, or ENP-BC certification, Prescriptive Authority licensure by the Colorado Board of Nursing, and DEA certificate.
- Experience working with acute and chronic medical conditions, and substance use disorders in adolescents with co-occurring psychiatric disorders.
- 3-5 years experience working in primary care, emergency medicine, and / or addictions medicine
- Knowledgeable and current regarding general medicine, urgent care medicine, and evidence-based MAT

Salary Grade 19 ( Nurse Practitioner.5 fte ) : $66,256.37 ($63.7081 / hr)
Salary Grade 24 ( MD or DO .5 fte ) : $105,900 ($101.826 / hr) to $128,000 ($123.076 / hr)
