RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assists the nurses in mixing chemotherapy and other IV fluids for clinic patients.
- Assists in restocking supplies in the carts used by the nurses.
- Assists with receiving daily orders and checking them into the Nucleus cabinet.
- Assists in maintaining inventory and checking expiration dates on medications/supplies.
- Assists the pharmacist in preparing patient prescriptions for clinic patients.
- Provides appropriate safety and infection control measures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
Experience:
- Prefer 1-year experience in Pharmacy setting
Certification/License:
- Registered in the State of MO as a pharmacy technician in good standing is required.
- Pharmacy technician certification preferred.
- BLS required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals including but not limited to clinic patients, nursing, nurse practitioner, physicians, pharmacist and customer service representatives.
- Ability to use computerized information systems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Works in heated and air-conditioned area; may be exposed to infectious material and contagious conditions including exposure to patient body fluids, including blood and contaminated sharps; potential for exposure to hazardous disinfecting chemicals; must follow universal precautions and utilize personal protective equipment.
