Entry Unit/Wage withholding caseworker
- Position Summary
The selected applicant will be responsible for accurately loading and new and modified child support and medical orders onto the child support system, and adjusting accounts to ensure accurate accounting of child support balances for distribution purposes.
Essential Functions
- Issuing wage withholding orders to employers
-Issuing national medical support notices to employers
-Calling employers to verify employee information
- Establishes and modifies child support accounts.
- Determines the proper payee for distribution of child support payments.
- Requests and/or makes necessary adjustments to the account
- Requires utilization of the child support audit tool
- Requires researching state benefits (both welfare and medical) and ensuring data is accurate in the child support system
-Verifies that a wage withholding order or medical support order is appropriate to forward to employer or benefit provider.
- Takes action to correct errors with accounting.
- Works performance related reports
- Performs other financial role as needed (cashier, balancer, closer).
- Requires regular attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
KNOWLEDGE: Must have knowledge of KASES (automated child support system). Basic mathematical skills and attention to detail are required. Must have ability to review and comprehend court orders. Familiarity with the performance measures related to order establishment, paternity establishment, current and arrears collections preferred.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Must be a mature individual with initiative, drive and the ability to work independently. Must have strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to meet deadlines. Must be very detail-oriented.
EDUCATION: High school graduate or its equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: 18 months experience involving child support enforcement. Accounting/bookkeeping, administrative or public assistance work, and/or clerical office work may be substituted.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position is located in the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office, Child Support Division, 1930 Bishop Lane, Suite 100, Louisville, Ky. 40218. Work is performed in an office setting. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Daily use of computers. Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor and personal interaction with employees in department.
Salary: $18.00 per hour/$37,440.00 per year (Funding is in whole or in part from federal, CHFS, or other state funds.)
