Description
The Jefferson County Department of Health (JCDH) is pleased to be a participant in the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) grant. As described by the CDC, Overdose Data to Action is a cooperative agreement that began in September 2019 and focuses on the complex and changing nature of the drug overdose epidemic and highlights the need for an interdisciplinary, comprehensive, and cohesive public health approach. The goal of the project is to obtain comprehensive, timely data on overdose morbidity and mortality and to use that data to inform prevention and response efforts. JCDH seeks master’s level public health students to serve as interns on the OD2A project to assist with administrative management of the grant.
Knowledge-Skills:
- Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the public.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to analyze facts, exercise sound judgment, and to arrive at sound conclusions.
- Ability to use modern office methods, techniques, equipment, and computer skills.
Eligibility:
- Student must be currently enrolled in an accredited university/college.
- Student must have completed their freshman year.
- Student must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Student must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Student must pass a pre-employment background check.
- Student must be eligible to work in the United States and provide required documentation upon hire.
Pay Rate:
- $15.00/ hour
