What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Groundskeeper (Day shift/Hours per week varies/As needed) position at Jefferson County Health Center?
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This seasonal maintenance worker performs manual work including basic grounds maintenance and improvements and assists with more involved tasks and projects in the summer and winter seasons (including landscaping, snow removal, etc.). Performs basic grounds maintenance repairs and improvements and assists with more involved tasks and projects. Assists in identifying maintenance needs. Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma - GED OR current High School student
Some experience in maintenance or grounds maintenance preferred
POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
· Performs grounds maintenance duties including mowing grass, operating a weed eater and manually pulling weeds, planting, trimming, and edging shrubbery, trees, grass, and flowers, raking leaves, brush removal, chipping and removing trash and debris, snow removal, etc.
· Cleans drainage ditches and culverts.
· Ensures exterior buildings and grounds are maintained to JCHC high standards.
· Maintains parking lot and sidewalks.
· Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards/policies.
· Performs other duties as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Working outside on Hospital facilities. Subject to vibrations and noise from power equipment. Handles or is exposed to hazardous/toxic substances. Might be exposed to fluctuating hot/humid and cold temperature. Wears protective equipment as deemed necessary and outline in material data sheets.
