POSITION SUMMARY
This temporary student position is available within our Broadband and Communications department at the District during the summer months to provide interns with training opportunities while assisting the District with necessary work. The Intern will also participate in Energy Northwest’s Public Power Internship Program that provides additional learning and networking opportunities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include, but are not limited to:
Work is generally performed in an office setting with extended periods of sitting. Fieldwork may involve driving long distances, working on various terrain and during various weather conditions. Individual may be exposed to hazards from obstacles associated with construction sites. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate personal computers and various equipment used in fieldwork. Occasional lifting and carrying cartons weighing up to thirty (30) pounds (non-essential). Frequent interaction with co-workers and customers is done via computer, telephone, and in person.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT
Jefferson County PUD requires the candidate in this position to reside within Jefferson, Kitsap or Clallam County. The residency requirement must be met within six (6) months of hire date.

- Applicants can expect to primarily work in and around an office setting and perform tasks associated with data entry, file organization, research, scanning documents to electronic format, website data, and other administrative tasks.
- Operational functions outside the office may be assigned; including but not limited to delivery and pick-up as well as visual verification of utility assets such as power poles, hydrants, or other utility items. One or more positions may be filled from this recruitment.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
- High school diploma and current enrollment in college or technical school.
- Ability to perform assigned tasks independently
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License
- Candidates must live in Jefferson County PUD service territory.
- SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must successfully complete a standard criminal background check. A valid Washington State driver’s license is required.
