Job Title: Summer Intern – Accounting Clerk
Reports to: Director Accounting and Financial Reporting
The Position
We are seeking a Summer Intern – Accounting Clerk to assist with financial data entry, accounts payable and receivable processes, and key performance indicator (KPI) development. This role provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in finance operations, enhance analytical skills, and contribute to process improvements.

The Port Townsend Paper (“PTPC”) mill is proud to have been in continuous operation for more than 90 years. We use a blend of virgin and recycled fibers (Kraft and OCC pulp) to produce Kraft pulp, paper, containerboard, medium and market pulp. Qualifications
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in processing vendor invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
- Perform data entry and maintain accuracy in financial records.
- Support KPI tracking and reporting, identifying trends and insights.
- Analyze accounting workflows to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Assist in documenting best practices and process enhancements.
- Collaborate with team members on special projects.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls.
Qualifications & Skills
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle numerical data accurately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Analytical mindset with an interest in process improvement.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
