Essential Job Functions: Greets clients and directs to proper area; responds to telephone inquiries and directs to proper person; logs in clients and advises clinic; provides cash receipts when required; maintains and balances ledger for monies received; maintains supplies and replenish as needed; maintains integrity of computer records with regular data entry. Collects and distributes all paperwork for applications. Receives and authorizes hospital notifications. Sorts and distributes mail to all staff. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Other Job Functions: Under a pre-established protocol, assists caseworkers in screening clients. Performs other job related duties, as directed.NOTE: The above describes the general nature and level of work being performed by employees holding this position. Equipment Used: Personal computer/mainframe computer terminal; multi-line telephone system; typewriter; calculator; copy machine; other general office equipment as needed.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge of accepted office practices and procedures; excellent verbal communication skills, computer skills, interpersonal skills in dealing with the public and public officials; ability to direct and coordinate client activity; good math skills. Must be able to acquire a Notary Public License. Work Situations/Demands/Efforts: Work requires organizing; prioritizing; accuracy; attention to detail; working alone; dealing with the public; flexibility in order to perform a variety of duties; performing routine, repetitive duties; meeting frequent deadlines; working with money; knowledge of forms and use, adaptability in directing clients to various areas. Working Conditions: Work is performed in a climate controlled office environment, which is accessible to the general public as well as other employees.Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary. Duties require frequent prolonged sitting; reaching, lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs., such as files, records, supplies; walking to courthouse and within office to deliver/retrieve files and paperwork.Jefferson County is an equal opportunity employer.
