Jefferson County is seeking a Bailiff to serve both the Superior Court and District Court. This role involves coordinating the jury and assisting the Clerk during court sessions. The Bailiff is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of court proceedings by managing and overseeing the movement of individual trial jury pools. The position entails significant interaction with various parties within the Criminal Justice system, including defendants, judges, attorneys, corrections staff, and the public. This is a Clerk Hire position, with a maximum of 69 hours per month.
Minimum Qualifications: The individual must be able to perform each job duty to a satisfactory level. The Clerk Hire Bailiff is responsible for managing the workflow within general guidelines and with minimal supervision. Work is periodically reviewed for accuracy, progress, and adherence to established procedures and policies. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years' experience working with the public in customer service, office, legal or court environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hours & Compensation: This is a part-time Clerk Hire position. Work up to 69 hours per month, $18.00 per hour. No benefits. One hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked.
