Job Goal:
The Director/Principal of James Rumsey Technical Institute, an multi-county vocational center for Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan Counties, is to provide visionary leadership in the development, implementation, and management of high-quality career and technical education programs that prepare secondary and postsecondary students for success in the workforce and higher education. This role ensures program alignment with industry standards, fosters partnerships with businesses and community stakeholders, maintains compliance with state and federal regulations, and creates a supportive learning environment that promotes student achievement and professional growth for staff.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a West Virginia Principal’s Certificate
- Must have at least three years of administrative experience as a school administrator or administrative experience in career and technical education.
- Should have a minimum of five years of teaching experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of West Virginia’s Career Technical Education (CTE) programs.

Other Duties
- Serve as the recording secretary for the JRTI Administrative Council and participate in meetings.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the JRTI Administrative Council.
