What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jefferson Davis Parish Police Jury Maintenance Repairer Specialist position at Jefferson Davis Parish Police Jury?
This position reports directly to the Building and Grounds Maintenance Supervisor
Duties include but not limited to the following:
· Must have knowledge of and ability to operate power tools, hand tools, and possess all other skills necessary to perform general repairs and preventive maintenance on all Police Jury Property, specifically the Office of the Registrar of Voters, Police Jury Annex, Courthouse, Jail, Fairgrounds, Arena, Multipurpose Building, Health Unit, County Agent’s office and Houssiere Park.
· Must be physically fit and capable of working, lifting, pushing, and climbing.
· Conduct minor electrical repairs, such as fixing light fixtures, replacing bulbs, and troubleshooting wiring issues.
· Handle minor plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and repairing faucets.
· Perform basic carpentry tasks, such as repairing doors, windows, cabinetry, trim, and furniture.
· Paint and touch up interior and exterior surfaces as needed.
· Maintain and repair HVAC systems, including cleaning filters and performing basic troubleshooting.
· Perform minor masonry work, such as repairing cracks in walls or walkways.
· Conduct regular inspections of building systems to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
· Repair and maintain building exteriors, including roofs, siding, and gutters.
· Assist with setting up and breaking down for events held on parish property.
· Keep maintenance logs and report any significant issues to the supervisor.
· Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
· Respond to maintenance requests from staff and tenants promptly and professionally.
· Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and building codes.
· Assist with the installation of new equipment or systems as needed.
· Collaborate with external contractors for more complex repairs or renovations.
· Be available for on-call duties and respond to emergency maintenance requests outside of regular working hours.
· Must respect the privacy of others and keep information confidential.
· Must be able to perform any other duties deemed necessary.
· Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Compensation will be determined by qualifications and Police Jury pay scale. Personal interviews will be conducted of qualified applicants.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.60 - $17.57 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
