Position Summary
As a Residential Electrician for Jefferson Electric and Solar, your primary responsibility is to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential buildings. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and compliance of electrical systems within homes. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical principles, codes, and safety procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Installation and Maintenance:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, lighting, and fixtures in residential properties.
- Ensure the proper functioning of electrical systems, including outlets, switches, and circuit breakers.
- Install and connect electrical appliances and equipment according to safety standards.
- Inspection and Testing:
- Conduct inspections to identify potential electrical hazards and code violations.
- Perform electrical testing to ensure systems meet safety and performance standards.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, implementing effective solutions.
- Code Compliance:
- Stay updated on local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
- Ensure all installations and repairs comply with relevant electrical codes.
- Document work and maintain accurate records to demonstrate compliance.
- Customer Service:
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their electrical needs and concerns.
- Provide estimates for electrical projects and explain the scope of work to customers.
- Address client questions and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Safety Procedures:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a safe work environment.

- Team Collaboration:

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
- Marion county Electrical License
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various environments and conditions.
- Valid Indiana Driver's License
- Pass Background Check
