What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interventional Pulmonology RRT position at Jefferson - Northeast Philadelphia, PA?
1. Conduct pre-procedure interviews with prospective interventional pulmonology patients and families. Interpret procedures for patients, families, physicians and outside agencies.
2. Prepare and analyze pre-procedure clinical data and collaborate with other medical personnel in preparation of patients for procedure.
3. Coordinate pre-procedure requirements.
4. Educate patients and families regarding all aspects of the procedure and post procedure care.
5. Communicate with third-party payers regarding issues of medical necessity and benefits coverage for their clients undergoing any interventional pulmonology procedure.
6. Compose treatment logs and monitor procedures for safety concerns.
7. Conduct post-discharge planning and education for interventional pulmonology patients.
8. Compile and review post-discharge data for clinical management of interventional pulmonology patients.
9. Provide direct care to interventional pulmonology patients in the Outpatient Pulmonary Clinic.
10. Promote for continuity of care between inpatient admissions and outpatient visits, coordinating care.
11. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teams when needed to facilitate meeting patient and family needs.
12. Provide telephone consultation and follow-up to support patients and their families. This requires the ability to recognize patient problems and symptoms, apply appropriate medical interventions and interventional pulmonary protocols and interpreting these to community physicians and health professionals involved in the care of our interventional pulmonary patients.
13. Implement and coordinate the education, selection and preparation for all relevant staff.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Registered Nurse, Bachelor’s degree required, MSN preferred or
- Registered Respiratory Therapist, Bachelor’s degree required
- Relevant work experience in Interventional Pulmonology, or closely related experience.
- Licenses & Certifications in the State of Pennsylvania.
- Preferred Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities.
Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson’s clinical entities or at the University. Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
