The Coordinator of Gifted/Talented, Extended School Year (ESY) and Assistive Technology reports to the Executive Director of Compliance and Pupil Appraisal. This role oversees gifted and talented education programs, the extended school year program, and all aspects of assistive technology devices.

Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret federal, state, and local policies related to supervised programs for schools.
- Prepare federal, state, and local reports as necessary.
- Provide professional development for gifted/talented teachers.
- Create, implement, and monitor a yearly action plan to increase student participation in gifted and talented programs.
- Monitor academic competitions.
- Maintain a database of gifted and talented students.
- Ensure compliance with G/T IEPs.
- Manage talent evaluator contracts and oversee the talent evaluation process.
- Provide training and support for teachers, administrators, and parents on assistive technology device usage.
- Inventory assistive technology devices.
- Create and manage budgets for assistive technology, ESY, and G/T programs.
- Conduct assistive technology evaluations for students in the evaluation process.
- Collaborate with IEP teams on potential assistive technology needs for special education students.
- Train on eligibility requirements for ESY services.
- Collaborate with IEP Coordinators on hiring ESY personnel.
- Oversee the ESY program.
- Manage LEAP Connect resources and provide training to school staff.
- Manage word prediction and text-to-speech application licenses and provide training.
- Support the compliance team with special education initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and a valid Louisiana teaching certificate in Special Education.
- Three years of successful teaching experience.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Suite.
- Familiarity with basic assistive technology devices and software.
- Knowledge of SER and Individualized Education Process.
- Ability to conduct professional developments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making ability.
Desirable Qualifications:
- G/T certification.
- Advanced degree.
