Position Description:
The Coordinator of Gifted/Talented, Extended School Year (ESY) and Assistive Technology reports to the Executive Director of Compliance and Pupil Appraisal. The role is responsible for the gifted and talented education programs, the extended school year program, and oversees all aspects of assistive technology devices.

Key Responsibilities:
- Interprets federal, state, and local policies related to supervised programs.
- Facilitates professional development for gifted/talented teachers.
- Develops and implements a yearly action plan to increase student screenings for gifted and talented programs.
- Monitors academic competitions.
- Maintains a database of gifted and talented students.
- Ensures G/T IEP compliance.
- Overses talent evaluator contracts and the talent evaluation process.
- Provides training and support on assistive technology device use.
- Maintains assistive technology device inventory.
- Creates and manages budgets for assistive technology, ESY, and G/T programs.
- Conducts assistive technology evaluations for students in the evaluation process.
- Collaborates with IEP teams on assistive technology needs for special education students.
- Provides training on ESY service eligibility requirements.
- Collaborates with IEP Coordinators on ESY personnel hiring.
- Overses the ESY program.
- Maintains LEAP Connect resource licenses and provides training.
- Maintains word prediction and text-to-speech application licenses and provides training.
- Assists the compliance team with special education initiative planning and implementation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and valid Louisiana teaching certificate in Special Education.
- Three years of successful teaching experience.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Suite.
- Above-average knowledge of basic assistive technology devices and software.
- Knowledge of SER and Individualized Education Process.
- Ability to conduct professional developments.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making capabilities.
Desirable Qualifications:
- G/T certification.
- Advanced degree.
