This position plays a vital role in supporting English Language Learners (ELLs) in making the most of their abilities. The successful candidate will provide counseling and guidance services to ELL students, helping them navigate academic, social, and behavioral challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Counseling and Guidance Services: Provide individual and group counseling to ELL students, addressing their social, behavioral, and academic needs.
- Social and Behavioral Support: Develop and deliver lessons on school policies, U.S. grading systems, and social norms to ensure ELL students' smooth transition into American education.
- Assessment and Reporting: Conduct psycho-social assessments to identify ELL students' needs and provide written reports within specified timelines.
- Referral Line: Establish a referral line to assist ELL students with cognitive, developmental, family, or psychosocial issues.
- Crisis Intervention: Address crisis situations in schools other than the base school, if assigned.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Master's Degree in School Counseling and 3 years of progressively increasing counseling experience.
- Languages: Proficient oral and written communication skills in English and the target language.
