Position Description:
- The Recruitment and Staffing Coordinator is responsible for performing all duties as assigned relating to recruitment, staffing, and employment status of all employees.
- The Recruitment and Staffing Coordinator supports Human Resources processes by staffing district vacancies, participating in recruitment activities, and maintaining confidential personnel records.
Scope of Responsibility:
- Assists with application and hiring process for district positions, including advertising available positions, recruiting to build a pool of qualified applicants, screening applications, verifying that applicants meet minimum requirements for employment, maintaining applicant files, conducting interviews for certified and support positions, and participating in events that lead to employee retention.
- Maintains and preserves confidentiality of correspondence, reports, and records on individual employees.
- Works with principals to ensure individual schools are fully staffed by the first day of school.
- Works collaboratively with principals and hiring managers to determine appropriate allocation of staff at each school or work location.
- Uses staffing sheets to identify if schools are over staffed or under staffed and conduct beginning of the year and end of the year eliminations where appropriate.
- Determines eligibility of employees for participation in the Voluntary Transfer Process.
- Prepares and disseminates information related to teacher transfers, Teacher Recruitment Events, and the Mutual Consent Process.
- Meets on a regular basis with the Recruitment and Selection Team to confirm available positions and to ensure recruitment efforts are aligned with the district’s staffing needs.
- Travels and participates in job fairs, conferences, conventions, and hiring events in state, out of state and out of country.
- Makes “Field” employment offers in those unique situations where they can be justified in critical shortage certification areas.
- Must have reliable transportation and travel on weekends, when necessary.
- Conducts in-service/professional development sessions to keep district administrators abreast of recruitment and interview techniques and district hiring practices.
- Maintains accurate and up to date staffing rosters on individual schools.
- Coordinates and facilitates interviews between applicants and principals when necessary. Establishes and maintains ongoing contact with desirable certified applicants until Mutual Consent is reached.
- Works with Director of Recruitment of Selection to determine the annual recruitment calendar.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Recruitment & Selection and Chief Human Resources Officer.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Detail-oriented, intrinsically motivated
- Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends
- Ability to travel within and outside of the state or country
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- High degree of professionalism, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities, while consistently demonstrating sound judgment and disciplined thinking

- Previous classroom teaching experience desired, but not required
Physical Involvement:
- Must be able to operate office equipment.
- Position requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
- Position also requires sitting for extended periods during travel time.
- Must be able to drive to schools, work locations, and meeting/recruitment sites during day and/or night time hours.
- Must also be able to fly, if necessary.
