EXAMINATION IS ANNOUNCED TO ESTABLISH AN EMPLOYMENT LIST TO FILL ONE (1) CURRENT EAST JEFFERSON VACANCY AT LAFRENIERE PARK.
This employment list will also be used for future EAST AND WEST Jefferson vacancies in this Department as they occur.This position is responsible for a wide variety of job functions including frequent patrols and observation, public safety, assistance with search and rescues, first aid and CPR, and fire fighting for minor incidents. The employee enforces Park rules and regulations and notifies the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office to handle complaints and violations of all Jefferson Parish Ordinances as well as all State and Federal Laws. In constant contact with all park visitors and handles simple violations of Park rules by verbal contact, verbal warning, and/or written warning. Special attention must be given to health and safety concerns related to work duties, as they relate to Park participants. Employees must follow all Departmental rules, regulations, and policies. The employee may work on weekends and holidays. Position requires driving of a Parish vehicle, thus possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record will be given preference.

Acceptable applicants must be at least 18 years of age, plus have an accredited high school diploma or its equivalent.
NOTE: Any conviction listed in the Louisiana Child Protection Act (Louisiana R.S. 15:587.1) is considered disqualifying, unless written proof of pardon is submitted in time for consideration with the application.
