EXAMINATION IS ANNOUNCED TO ESTABLISH AN EMPLOYMENT LIST TO FILL ONE (1) CURRENT EAST JEFFERSON VACANCY IN THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES AND FUTURE EAST AND WEST JEFFERSON VACANCIES IN VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS AS THEY OCCUR.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The purpose of this position is to assist the Property Manager in coordinating and managing new and ongoing construction and renovation projects. Conducts in-depth inspections of Parish facilities to determine necessary repairs, maintenance, and/or renovations needed. Works with the property managers to write specifications for construction, repair, and maintenance projects. Assists the Property Manager with Coordinating projects with architects, engineers, and contractors. Plans, implements, schedules, and supervises all necessary maintenance and repairs performed by contractors and parish employees. Performs supervisory duties, including but not limited to keeping employee time, performing annual evaluations, and assigning work/tasks through a departmental work ticket program. Coordinates employee training and safety meetings. Drives personal vehicle to and from various locations throughout Eastbank and Westbank of Jefferson Parish to perform job tasks. This position is an essential, emergency duty status worker and may not be relieved of duty when the Parish President or their designee recommends a voluntary or mandatory evacuation of Jefferson Parish. Position requires driving of a personal vehicle, thus possession of a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and personal automobile with minimum liability insurance available for business use (business travel is reimbursed on a mileage basis) will be given preference.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
(ENTRANCE AND PROMOTIONAL) The examination may consist of a written test, a rating of training and experience, an oral panel interview or any combination thereof. Acceptable applicants will be notified of the time, date, and place of any assembled testing. Applicants must supply complete and accurate information concerning their training and experience including a detailed description of their work experience, the names and addresses of all previous employers and the dates of employment. The information is subject to verification and the Personnel Department reserves the right to determine the quality and quantity of education and experience claimed for credit.
