Description:
- Greets guests and campground visitors courteously and professionally, providing information and campground services as needed. Answers phones promptly, efficiently, and in a friendly manner.
- Operates the campground office, including handling sales, stocking, merchandising, making reservations, and assigning campsites. Operates the point-of-sale system and cash register.
- Promotes campground services and facilities, as well as other Jekyll Island Authority amenities such as the Sea Turtle Center, Mini Golf, Bike Rental, Golf, Summer Waves, etc.
- Resolves minor guest complaints to the satisfaction of the customer and informs the manager of major problems, complaints, disturbances, or unhappy guests.
- Completes daily paperwork, including balancing the cash drawer, documenting adjustments, and processing refunds.
- Operates and drives motorized vehicles as assigned.
- Maintains a professional image at all times through appearance and dress. Applies and follows organizational policies and procedures.
- Keeps the campground office, store, and guest areas neat, clean, and tidy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to count money and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Credit, criminal, and MVR background checks are required.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays and occasional early evenings.
- Regular and predictable punctuality and attendance during scheduled hours required.
Physical Activities/ Working Conditions Requirements:
- Exert up to 35 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- More than 50% of the typical workday will be spent walking, standing, reaching, grasping, and using repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions.
- Between 25% and 50% of the typical workday will be spent crouching and/or stooping, kneeling.
- Less than 25% of the day is spent climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying, crouching and/or stooping, and kneeling.
- Must have visual abilities to prepare and analyze data and figures, transcribe information, use computers, read extensively, and operate motor vehicles.
- Sensory abilities required include vision, feeling, and touching, with more than 50% of the day spent talking and hearing.
- Most work will be performed within an indoor office environment. However, work may be occasionally conducted in adverse environmental conditions.
- The noise level is considered normal.
