Job Title: Golf Pro Shop Team Lead
Department/Division: Golf / Amenities
Status: Regular, Full-time, Non-Exempt
Pay: $18.11 per hour
Reports to: Director of Golf

Job Summary:
With more than 60,000 golfers playing our golf courses each year, the Golf Pro Shop Team Lead plays an important role in providing visitors an exceptional experience. The responsibility of the Golf Pro Shop Team Lead includes providing customers with exceptional customer service, supervising Pro Shop operations such as inventory control, training and motivating staff, and maintaining accurate accounting records. The Team Lead will assist the Director of Golf and Head Pro with administrative duties such as submitting invoices, receiving payments, creating POs, etc.
Description:
  • Assists Director of Golf supervise employees, including encouraging and motivating staff in sales and customer service.
  • Demonstrate high knowledge and efficiency in both point-of-sale retail and golf tee time software.
  • Responsible for responding to guest inquiries for tee times, scheduling tee times, and maintaining tee sheet appropriately.
  • Coordinate with Cart Attendants to maintain a consistent level of cart availability and to ensure guests are following the rules.
  • Communicates to Carts, Starter, and Director of Golf about any changes to the tee sheet or any updates that need to be addressed on the course
  • Resolves customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensures availability of merchandise by replenishing store stock levels daily.
  • Responsible for servicing and maintaining the online sales website portion of the pro shop inventory.
  • Assists in inventory counts, identifies shortages or surpluses and reports all discrepancies to the Director.
  • Stays current on all golf operations and events by attending golf staff meetings, assists with briefing all guest services staff with changes at the beginning of each shift.
  • Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
  • Maintains the stability and reputation of the Golf Club by complying with legal requirements.
  • Assists with developing staff schedules for pro shop.
  • Enforces program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Prepares daily store deposit and daily revenue reports. Ensures that all pro shop accounting reports are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper PCI compliance as required by credit card regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper cash controls in the pro shop.
  • Contributes to the team effort by striving for increased pro shop sales while promoting awareness of the Jekyll Island Golf Club.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a high school degree or a recognized equivalent. Associates Degree or higher is preferred.
  • 2-4 years retail store management required. Golf pro shop experience a plus!
  • Must be outgoing, personable and friendly.
  • Must love working with people.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Must have ability to effectively communicate and present information to customers, peers, and all levels of management.
  • Proficiency computer skills required.
  • Flexible schedule required including weekends, holidays, occasional early evening.
  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality as scheduled is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have valid driver's license
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
  • Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
  • More than 50% of the typical workday will be spent standing and walking.
  • Between 25 and 50% of the day will be spent lifting, grasping, feeling and climbing, pushing, and pulling. Using hands to feel, grasp, and touch as well as lift hands and arms above head.
  • Less than 25% of the day will be spent climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and sitting.
  • Sensory abilities required include vision, hearing and touching with more than 50% of the day spent communicating, talking and hearing.
  • Must have visual clarity to determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work assigned as well as close visual clarity to prepare, analyze data and figures and operate and view a computer.
  • Majority of work will be performed within an indoor environment. Typically work is not conducted in adverse environmental conditions.
  • Noise level is considered quiet to normal.
