ABOUT THE ROLE
The JELD-WEN Summer Internship Program empowers talented undergraduate students to gain real-world working experience and professional development in one of four potential business areas. This position is focused on the Information Technology business area. The internship program includes meaningful projects and challenging work assignments geared at developing professional competencies and skills in a chosen discipline. Additionally, throughout the summer internship, participants will have the opportunity for professional development, mentoring, and networking opportunities to help enhance future leadership.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
In the past, our interns have had the opportunity to:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize IaC practices to develop and deploy data systems in a cloud-native environment, with a focus on scalability and automation.
- IaC: Deploy new infrastructure using tools like Ansible, Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM), optimizing for scalability and resilience.
- Azure Infrastructure Management: Work with Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring stability and operational efficiency across data operations.
- Monitoring and Maintenance: Participate in the monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automated processes to ensure reliability and performance.
- Define and document standards and workflow for IaC at JELD-WEN.
- Support development of KPI driven progress reports.
- Hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and real-world projects
- Mentorship from experienced professionals in the field

SKILLS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
- Currently enrolled rising junior or senior students majoring in: Information Technology, Computer Science or related major
- Demonstrated work ethic and detail-orientation and organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-driven, eager to tackle new projects from scratch, with the ability to work independently on complex tasks
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment and work to a high caliber while demonstrating attention to detail
- Strong collaborator
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Experience with cloud-native data systems, particularly within the Azure ecosystem
- Relevant internship or previous work experience
- Leadership experience and relationship-building skills
