What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Assistant position at Jenkins Landscape Company?
We are a family owned and operated business since 1959. We are looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented individual to join our team and grow in their knowledge of workforce operations! The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support the employee experience at Jenkins Landscape Company.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Proofread documents for accuracy including customer invoices, company bills, and estimates
- Provides clerical support including making phone calls and emails, filing and printing documents, entering data and generating reports, and more
- Maintains accurate and current human resource files, records, and documentation while prioritizing confidentiality
- Responds to routine inquiries from job applicants and employees regarding standard policies; escalate more complex questions to HR Manager
- Assist payroll functions including data entry, resolving processing errors, and distributing checks; Occasionally lead payroll functions when necessary
- Acts as a liaison between Jenkins Landscape Company and external benefits providers and vendors to relay information
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism and the utmost respect for others
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel (ability to filter, sort, clean, and interpret data as well as utilize basic functions like sums and averages)
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree or higher in related field preferred
- Prior related office experience required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer and operating a phone
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
