Jeong Yuk Jeom, an upscale casual Korean BBQ restaurant in the heart of Manhattan's vibrant Korean Town, is seeking an experienced and talented Head Bartender to lead our bar team. As we prepare to open our doors this December, we’re looking for a highly skilled, creative, and customer-focused bartender with a deep knowledge of Korean liquors and cocktails. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership experience in a high-volume, upscale dining environment and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all bar operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality and service
- Lead, train, and manage a team of bartenders and barbacks, fostering a positive and efficient work environment
- Develop and maintain a unique and innovative cocktail menu, with an emphasis on Korean spirits (soju, makgeolli, etc.) and creative drinks that complement our BBQ offerings
- Maintain a well-organized, clean, and fully stocked bar, while managing inventory and ordering supplies
- Ensure the bar team delivers excellent customer service and upholds Jeong Yuk Jeom's brand standards
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests with professionalism and courtesy
- Collaborate closely with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure a seamless and high-quality guest experience
- Monitor and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of bartending experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role in a high-end or upscale casual restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of liquors and cocktails, with the ability to educate staff and guests about drinking culture
- Bartender awards or notable industry recognition is a plus
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Excellent communication skills; knowledge of bilingual is a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
