Asylum Seeker Case Worker
Jericho Road Community Health Center is actively seeking an Asylum Seeker Case Worker. This position is full-time, within the Refugee Services department, working at multiple locations across Buffalo.

Responsibilities:
- Working with the Housing Coordinator to assist with apartment acquisition process
- Ensures housing rental, apartment and utility service set-up provided per funding guidelines
- Coordinates airport pick-up and hot meal provision
- Ensures core services provision per funding guidelines (home visits, financial package, government benefits, medical, school, ESL, cultural orientation) of new arrivals Communicates
- -and ensures that others on team communicate—the “temporary teaching role” of agency to foster future independence and self-sufficiency
- Ensures transition to employment and other programs, in the post-early resettlement period
- Participates in provision/referral of intensive case management for most vulnerable
- Ensures use of interpretation, when needed, and ensures interpreter communicates correct instructions to client
- Advocates and educates a variety of providers, including welfare, educational, healthcare and others regarding culturally sensitive issues related to Asylum Seeking Families
- Ensures compliance and timely documentation with MRAP Program requirements through coordination with department staff
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years’ experience in case work for vulnerable populations
- Associate or bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
Rate: $20.00 per hour. Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other position related components.
