Job Summary
The HR Manager will oversee and coordinate human resources functions across nine different business entities within a multi-company towing organization. This role is responsible for developing HR strategies, managing employee relations, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and supporting recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts. The ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional with strong organizational and leadership skills, capable of managing a diverse and dynamic workforce.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices across all entities to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Oversee the recruitment and hiring process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Work side by side with our PEO company to oversee benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
- Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, EEO, and OSHA standards.
- Work with our PEO company to administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
- Coordinate training and development programs to enhance employee skills, performance, and retention.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including personnel files, attendance, and timekeeping.
- Collaborate with management to address workforce planning needs, including staffing levels, succession planning, and talent development.
- Conduct periodic audits of HR processes and systems to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Monitor and address employee engagement and morale to foster a positive work environment.
- Support payroll processing and collaborate with finance on compensation strategies.
- Lead HR-related projects, such as employee satisfaction surveys, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and organizational development efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related field. PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
- 5 years of experience in human resources management, preferably in transportation, logistics, or a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience managing HR functions for multi-entity or multi-location organizations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
