POSITION (S): Community Aide (Full-Time)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Applicants must be a resident of Jersey City and have a minimum of 60 College Credits
- Open to Per Diem Community Aides, Community Aides seeking a transfer and others
- Daily calls for ALL absentees. Document who you spoke with and reason given for absence on the appropriate Daily Attendance Summary Report.
- Submit weekly report to central office of phone calls, letters sent home, home visits and court referrals sent to Attendance Counselors.
- Identify student in need of supportive or special services and refer students to other personnel and/or agencies, in order to address their needs; follow up on the referral made in order to assure the necessary services are provided.
- Develop an interest among parents in the school system.
- Encourage parents to participate in group discussions and activities.
- Aid in the explanation of school and program goals and objectives to the community.
- Other duties as deemed appropriate by the principal or supervisor.
