Position: Middle School Transition Room Educator
School Year: 2025-26
Job Summary
Jersey Community Unit School District No. 100 is looking for a professional educator to fill the role of Transition Room
Teacher at Jersey Community Middle School. The Transition room teacher will create a supportive, structured
environment for students requiring short-term behavioral, social-emotional, or academic support. This teacher will
supervise and guide students assigned to the In-School Detention (ISD) program, those transitioning in and out of the
general education settings, and students in need of individualized academic or SEL interventions. The goal is to support
student growth and successful reintegration into their regular learning environments.

The location of the opening may vary depending on internal transfer considerations.
Physical Demands
The qualified candidate must have no physical limitations. The candidate must be able to lift. Additionally, the candidate
will be trained and must be able to participate in the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) model of behavior management.
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant
lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or
crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 10% sitting, 45% walking, and 45% standing.
The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and under conditions with exposure to risk of injury and/or
illness.
Minimum Qualifications
The professional educator MUST possess an Illinois Professional Educator License.
