Jesuit Dallas Associate Director of College Counseling
Jesuit Dallas is seeking a qualified and innovative educator who is dedicated to navigating the highly competitive college admissions process in a faith based, mission centered environment. Candidates must enjoy working with adolescent males and their families. Successful candidates will possess a passion for forming adolescents, engaging in life-long learning, and collaborating with peers in the pursuit of the school's mission. Responsibilities include the following:
- Form and educate young men to be open to growth, intellectually competent, loving, religious, committed to working for justice and physically fit.
- Guide students and parents throughout the entire college search, financial aid, and scholarship processes in both individual and family meetings.
- Write recommendations for assigned seniors and act as as advocate for each counselee.
- Collaborate with the Guidance Counseling Department to evaluate, innovate, and implement a comprehensive four-year college admissions curriculum.
- Collaborate with the faculty to assist in the college admissions process.
- Build and maintain relationships with colleges, universities, and professional organizations to ensure an informed college admissions curriculum.
- Oversee the standardized test prep and coordination of test administration, including the PSAT and AP exams.
- Participate in all departmental and school-wide faculty formation.
- Engage in on-going professional development.
- Participate in student-centered co-curricular, extra-curricular, service, and/or retreat opportunities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years experience working with college admissions in a secondary or post-secondary setting.
- Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree from an accredited university preferred.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Works in a fast-paced environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a diverse array of contacts.
- May work at a desk and computer for an extended period of time.
- Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
