JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THE MAINTENANCE STAFF
The Maintenance Staff position is responsible for maintaining the facilities on campus and providing routine maintenance, service and repairs of equipment and systems as required by the manufacturer's service and maintenance manuals. This position is responsible for responding in a timely manner to work orders and ensuring their proper completion. This position provides support for campus activities, events, and operations as needed. This 12-month position reports to the Facilities Crew Chief.
Maintenance and Service
- Provide routine, preventative, and scheduled maintenance (within individual's area of expertise) on numerous campus equipment, including but not limited to: HVAC systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems, and other mechanical equipment.
- Service and repair systems and equipment as needed on campus.
- Use appropriate safety measures when working work.
- Provide quality workmanship to complete tasks.
Work Orders
- Execute work orders and update the Facilities Crew Chief on the completion status.
- Perform minor carpentry, painting, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs.
- Use hand and power tools in minor maintenance repairs.
Campus Support
- Provide support for various campus events as requested.
- Set-up and break-down for events held on campus (including some off-campus.)
Additional Responsibilities
- Empty wastebaskets as needed.
- Replenish supplies as needed.
- Assist in receiving deliveries.
- Lock/unlock buildings and gates around campus in the morning and in the afternoon, as directed.
- Assist in controlling daily traffic on campus at arrival and dismissal.
- Respond to tire alarms on campus.
- At times required to work after-hours or on weekends.
- Keep maintenance building, storage yard, and all storage spaces organized with proper list of inventories.
