Position Summary
The Senior Analyst Flight Operations – System Chief Pilot Office gathers, interprets, and reports data to the Flight Operations Department on all operational performance metrics. Using quantitative analysis methods, the Senior Analyst tracks, trends, and reports departmental performance data in a manner affording the ability to make necessary process and operational enhancements based on factual and reliable data that directly impact the Pilot crewmember and customer experience. To that end, the Senior Analyst will command an understanding and management of the back-of-house database technology infrastructure used to supply data. The Senior Analyst will also be the department’s primary representative in the development of technological products with department and company-wide impact such as Crew Domain and the pending Crew Management System.
Essential Responsibilities
- Compile, track, trend, and provide analysis of reports for Flight Operations Leadership on all departmental performance data metrics regularly including, but not limited to, On Time Performance (OTP), Dependability, Fuel Conservation and data gathered from Flight Crew Safety and Irregularity reports
- Maintain oversight of major IT projects that will heavily impact Flight Operations ability to retrieve and retrain operational data that leads to more efficient use of our pilot cadre
- Guide, develop and mentor direct reports and other analysts assigned to the Flight Operations department
- Lead a cross-functional team of Analysts from Financial Planning and Analysis, Operations Planning and Analysis, and Crew Planning / Crew Staffing to find efficiencies that reduce JetBlue’s operational risk
- Recommend improvements to processes based on comprehensive data analysis of performance metrics
- Manage database infrastructure, particularly SharePoint, Comply365 Forms, and other database platforms, supporting programs used to measure and report departmental performance
- Track and report on corrective action process with appropriate departments of issues reported through the Flight Crew reporting mechanisms
- Provide analysis of data from Ask Flight, Ramp Concerns, FCIRs, and Safety reports to identify common trends for areas of improvement and overall risk of the Flight Operations department
- Identify and analyze root cause of challenges identified through departmental and company Internal Evaluation Programs
- Provide budget analysis for monthly profit-and-loss review and the annual budget build
- Manage the Average Line Value modeling tool to support routine budget refinement
- Monitor and provide inputs to Information Technology project teams where Flight Operations is a stakeholder
- Interface and communicate with other departments regularly to gather data relevant to Flight Operations performance
- Partner with all levels of Flight Operations Leadership regarding proper understanding and use of metrics and data
- Assist with ad hoc projects as it pertains to process improvement, program management, and quality assurance
