Position Su m mary :

The Senior Analyst Flight Operations is responsible for aiding in the administration and continuous improvement of the Flight Operations Department programs. This position will work in close coordination with other project related departments with an emphasis on operational efficiencies, supporting the general planning and business needs of the Flight Operations Department by conducting business and schedule analysis, departmental performance reporting and tracking, and budgeting. This position also interfaces with Crew Staffing, Crew Planning, Operations Planning and Analysis and Financial Planning and Analysis. The Senior Analyst is responsible for aiding in the development and implementation of proactive and reactive practices and procedures in our flight operations. This person actively participates in all aspects of projects associated the Flight Operations Department from start to finish, including project team definition, project planning, documentation and coordination when assigned by the Director, Flight Operations Administration in support of Flight Operations business related activities. This role reports to the Director.

Essential Respons i bilities :

  • Serves as a resource for all programs. projects and duties as assigned by the Director, Flight Operations Administration in support of Flight Operations business related activities
  • Ensures the Flight Operations Department Leadership and other Department Leadership are apprised of all significant issues and trends
  • Prepares presentations and assists with data research and analysis
  • Assist with financial analysis and identifying key opportunities for cost savings
  • Aid in the continuous development implementation and enhancement of JetBlue’s Flight Operations Department programs
  • Work with multiple departments to ensure accurate coding of departmental expenses
  • Act as primary liaison with Crew Services (specifically, pilot staffing, bid divisors, and reserve minimums)
  • Assist Flight Operations leadership with ad-hoc projects, research, and development of solutions and communications plans
  • Conduct financial and operational modeling to provide Senior Leadership with decision support
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • Three (3) years’ experience with a Part 121 carrier
  • Familiarity with federal regulations pertaining to U.S. scheduled domestic air carrier operations
  • Training and aviation experience in quality assurance auditing or internal evaluation
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to build relationships both internally and externally
  • Proficient in financial, quantitative and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to craft and deliver key messages through presentations and reporting to senior leadership
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with managing a budget
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
  • Preferred Experience and Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Science, Aviation Management, Business, Economics or other related field of study
  • Five (5) years’ experience in budgeting, planning, analysis and / or finance or related field
  • Knowledge of technology fundamentals and concepts (Microsoft and TIBCO Spotfire technologies preferred)
  • Knowledge of JetBlue's Business Units and Flight Operations disciplines and interdependencies
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized
  • Crewmember Expectations

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Compensation :

  • The base pay range for this position is between $56,500.00 and $103,100.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
