Overview
Position Title: Trainer
Classification: FLSA Non-Exempt
Reports To: General Manager
Position Purpose:
The station Trainer position is responsible for conducting training programs that instruct employees on servicing the needs of the individual airline and the associated requirements of their aircraft in accordance with airline and Jetstream’s policies and procedures; as well as supporting operations by monitoring and auditing aircraft, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, while providing continual feedback on training statuses, ramp operations and cabin appearance issues that might affect operations.
Responsibilities
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring safety being at the forefront of all duties and job functions.
- Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as new hire orientation, initial, recurrent, operations and on-the-job training; test trainees to measure progress and evaluate effectiveness of training
- Train employees on various types of ramp equipment based on the company's safety standard procedures
- Coordinate with shift managers regarding audit and inspection on all scheduled related subjects
- Be willing and able to assist operations teams as necessary with immediate instruction, correction and support if not immediately compliant
- Conduct inspection in accordance with department standards by auditing the cleanliness level of different aircrafts; complete safety audits and submit reports in a timely manner
- Notify management of observed areas of deficiencies or non-compliance via daily written reports
- Prepare periodic evaluation reports on Ramp Operations and Cabin Appearance quality functions
- Work with and lead team members in building morale or individual knowledge levels in order to improve work performance
- Maintain a high level of customer service with both internal and external customers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Competencies:
- Strong working knowledge of airline operations
- Must be self-motivated with strong organizational skills, able to prioritize work, multi-task, be detail oriented, and meet established deadlines
- Superior problem-solving, conflict management and decision making skills
- Demonstrate communication, leadership and analytical skills
- Ability to develop effective relationships at all levels
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office software; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher
Required Education & Experience:
- Associate Degree in business or related field; and minimum 5 years’ experience in a related auditing field or 3 years of airline /aviation experience required
- Strong understanding of Airline Cabin Cleaning Services and AOA Ramp Operations
Additional Requirements:
- Possess a valid US driver’s license
- Must pass drug screen and a 10-year FAA background check (employment/criminal)
- Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills in English
- Attend “Train-the-Trainer” sessions and any applicable programs to maintain compliance and knowledge of the job functions
- Must be able to perform in a fast paced environment while maintaining a professional and effective approach to high stress situations
- Hours will vary based on operational needs typical for an airport operations. Must be available to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays
Work Environment
This job operates in an office environment as well as outdoors on an airport ramp environment. Team members may become exposed to the elements including but not limited to heat, rain, snow, and loud noises.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and hear. Walk up/down jet bridge stairs at various angles The employee must occasionally be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Travel
Some travel may be required.
