What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server/Bartender position at Jett Management?
Cooper's Landing in Galveston, TX is looking for part-time servers/bartender to join our team. We are located at 11150 Termini San Luis Pass Rd. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and professional in appearance with no visible tattoos, body piercings or unnatural hair color.
Server Responsibilities
- Suggestively sell beverages and menu items
- Responsible for having a strong food knowledge base very detailed understanding and memorization of the current menu items which include all alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, food and specials
- Attends the daily pre-shift meeting to learn any important daily information any other scheduled staff meetings
- Complete all assigned pre-shift side duties in a timely manner
- Stocking, polishing silver, glass and dishware, setting, bussing and clearing tables, trash and recycling removal, expediting food, serving food and drinks, waiting tables
- Must have explicit knowledge of the menus and be able to make recommendations answer questions regarding dish preparations
- Monitor and observe guests' dining experiences
- Keeps the chefs and managers informed of any issues that might affect quality or timing of service
Bartender Responsibilities
- Mixing, garnishing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
- Checking customers’ identification and confirming it meets legal drinking age
- Restocking and replenishing bar inventory and supplies
- Staying guest focused and nurturing an excellent guest experience
- Complying with all food and beverage regulations
- Maintaining a clean and organized bar area
- Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons
- Keeping a record of bar inventory and ordering supplies as needed
- Interacting with customers, taking orders and serving snacks and drinks
Qualifications
- Proven work experience as a Server or bartender
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Ability to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system
- High school diploma; relevant training certificate
- Takes Pride in Appearance and Job performance
- Must Be Available to Work Weekends and Holidays
- Fine-Dining Experience Preferred
- Must have high level knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
