What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner position at JEVS Human Services?
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will play a vital role in providing psychiatric consultations and services to patients within JEVS Outpatient Clinic. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to address the mental health needs of patients with co-occurring disorders.
This position is part time: 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct clinical assessments and order diagnostic tests to identify patient conditions and goals.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication prescriptions, monitor patient progress and provide behavioral and talk therapy
Prescribe medications and adjust dosages as needed, ensuring appropriate patient care.
Provide patients and families with health education, promoting health maintenance and disease prevention.
Work closely with our collaborating psychiatrist within an interdisciplinary team including other therapists, collaboratively with physicians, specialists, and team members. Participate in staff meetings, clinical meetings and monthly department meetings.
Complete patient notes, assessment and treatment plans in our Electronic Health Records system.
May participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on psychiatric/mental health care.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a psychiatric mental health Nurse Practitioner in a clinical setting, with specific experience required.
Current licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in Pennsylvania.
- Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) required.

- Liability Insurance
- Able to become credentialed with Medicare and Medicaid.
- Demonstrated ability to work on a computer using the Internet, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft excel, video conferencing systems and Electronic Health Record system
The base salary for this position ranges from $75.00 up to $100.00 hourly. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation that JEVS Human Services provides to recognize employees for their work.
