Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Design, deploy, and manage AWS EC2 instances for optimal performance and cost efficiency.
- Develop and manage Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) to support scalable deployments.
- Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters using Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).
- Design containerized solutions for applications, ensuring efficient orchestration and scaling.
- Implement best practices for container security, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Assist in creating and supporting serverless solutions using AWS Lambda for event-driven architecture.
- Participate and refine disaster recovery strategies and backup solutions in AWS.
- Perform regular DR drills to ensure readiness and minimize recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO).
- Manage infrastructure using tools like CloudFormation, AWS CDK, or Terraform.
- Automate provisioning, scaling, and configuration of resources using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
- Refine monitoring and alerting solutions using AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other tools.
- Continuously optimize cloud resources for performance, reliability, and cost.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to align cloud solutions with business goals.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Must have at least 2 - 4 years of related experience in Information Technology.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in AWS.
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, EKS, Lambda, and AMI management.
- Understanding of containerization technologies like Docker.
- Strong knowledge of disaster recovery principles and AWS-native tools (e.g., AWS Backup, AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Deep understanding of AWS IAM, VPC, security groups, and network configurations.
- Property/casualty insurance background and jewelry industry experience are helpful, but not required.
- Experience with multi-region AWS architectures and hybrid cloud setups.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK.
- Understanding of cost management and optimization strategies in AWS.
- Familiarity with logging and analytics tools like Splunk, Datadog, or ELK stack in an AWS environment.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
AWS Certifications in Operations, Networking, and Security at the associate or above level are a plus.
