Job Summary-
The position is responsible for Jewett Automation's general accounting and financial reporting. Ensure general ledger transactions are accurate and comply with GAAP. Analyze and report expense and balance sheet accounts periodically. The ideal candidate will have a high aptitude for problem-solving and analysis. As the Sr. Staff Accountant, you will assist with the month-end close, prepare account reconciliations, analyze monthly expenses, assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements, and identify process and procedural improvements. Responsible for meeting tight deadlines when preparing accurate financial statements and supporting schedules; bringing potential issues to management affecting the financials or cash flows. Analyze financial information call attention to trends and make recommendations to managers to improve internal processes.
Job Qualifications-
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required
- CPA, MBA or CMA designations preferred.
- 5 - 8 years of accounting experience preferred
- Excellent knowledge of accounting policies and procedures and internal accounting controls
- Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and be able to prioritize effectively
- Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software preferred
- Extensive knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
