New umpires are trained to officiate at machine-pitch and coach-pitch games for 6-9 year old players.
Experienced umpires officiate at games for players 6-15 years old.

Requirements
- Umpires must be at least 15 years of age with a good understanding of baseball and/or softball or interest in learning.
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule that includes week day evenings and weekend daytime and evening shifts
- Works well independently and with of co-workers
- Punctuality
- Physical fitness and stamina to keep up with the pace of the game
- Constant standing, walking and exposure to the weather outdoors
- Frequent walking/running, eye/hand/foot coordination, talking and hearing
