The Clinical Supervisor will provide supervision of Clinical staff and management of administrative tasks. The Clinical Supervisor provides support and guidance as Clinicians utilize their professional expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat their clients using their clinical discretion and judgement. The Supervisor shall provide opinion and analysis to Clinicians and allow them to exercise their independent discretion to treat their clients. The Supervisor may provide feedback to Clinicians in helping assess their effectiveness by evaluating the overall quality of their work, including but not limited to productivity, documentation, and fidelity in providing evidence-based interventions. Clinical Supervisors are responsible for maintaining the information regarding compliance measures for the programs in which their supervisees work. The position requires a breadth of knowledge regarding pathology, treatment interventions, and current best practices for a broad range of client profiles, as well as an ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the diverse cultural groups served by the agency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to agency policies and procedures in accordance with legal, regulatory, accreditation, best practice, and compliance standards
  • Supervise Clinicians and provide support to ensure satisfactory job performance
  • Comply with requirements for EHR (electronic health record) documentation based on policies and procedures
  • Review for thoroughness of clinical work and timely documentation (i.e. biopsychosocial, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, etc.)
  • Discuss decision to terminate treatment services for assigned caseload with Clinicians and explore possible referrals, as appropriate
  • Work with Director to manage waitlist and assign clients to supervisees based on availability to ensure minimal wait time
  • Ensure caseloads are maintained and assigned to supervisees to meet productivity requirements
  • Ensure supervisees meet key performance indicators as evidenced by the Productivity and Caseload Tracking reports
  • Communicate and coordinate with QA staff to ensure case record compliance and completion of 10-12 chart audit reviews monthly
  • Coordinate staff schedules to ensure appropriate levels of staffing are available at all required shifts, including coordination and approval of leave time
  • Complete annual staff performance evaluations
  • Complete performance improvement plan, as needed to help support supervisee success
  • Provide opportunities for staff development and training
  • Provide direct clinical service to a limited caseload (average 10-15 clients a week)
  • Participate in supervision with Director and weekly/monthly Team meetings
  • Provide clinical coverage for supervisees when the supervisee is on leave
  • Demonstrate flexibility with schedule and be available to work a minimum of two evenings per week
  • Be available to support agency response during crisis situations and exceptional incidents.
  • Perform clinical presentations and outreach to the community, including occasional evenings and/or Sundays
  • Participate in professional seminars and attend monthly in-service trainings
  • Demonstrate program development skills through participation in grant writing and proposal writing in collaboration with Clinical Director
  • Complete reports for grant funding source
  • Assist with program development and quality management initiatives
  • Understand the breadth of programming in which supervisee participates, including but not limited to: Clinical Services, Counseling and Prevention, Early Intervention Program, Infant and Early Childhood Services, and the PACTT Initiative (Providing Adolescents and Children Trauma-Focused Treatment)
  • Volunteer at two JCS signature fundraising events, 1) Milk & Honey and 2) Matzah Mitzvah, scheduled Sundays, and for other fundraising events, as needed
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Director

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Clinical Supervisor will supervise a minimum of 3 full-time and/or part-time clinical staff, providing oversight to approximately 75 cases. Increase in supervisory responsibilities will result in a reduced caseload for the supervisor. The supervisor will be responsible for holding accountable compliance of standards, policies, and procedures of the persons to whom they are assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in a mental health discipline and with relevant experience, required
  • LCSW, LMFT, or LMHC in the State of Florida, required
  • Minimum of five (5) years post-degree experience, required
  • Qualified Supervisor in the State of Florida, strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar working with EHR software
  • Superior clinical and management skills and experience grounded in best practices
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and mentor clinical staff
  • Knowledge and experience in trauma-informed care
  • Knowledge of individual, family, and group evidence-based therapy modalities
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Demonstrate an ability to work effectively with colleagues, supervisees, and administrators
  • Knowledge of cultural issues and demonstrates ability to be sensitive to the range of clients served by the agency
  • Bilingual, preferred
