The Seniors At Home program offers a wide range of services to help older adults live safe, healthy, and independent lives, including home care, personal assistant services, companionship, and specialized dementia and palliative care. We provide the Bay Area’s leading continuum of care for aging adults.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Seniors At Home, the Director of Personal Assistant Services leads and oversees a high-quality, concierge-level care program that supports older adults maintain independence across all five JFCS service regions. This role combines strategic leadership, direct client engagement, and oversees Personal Assistant recruitment, retention and performance to ensure exceptional service. The Director also conducts client assessments, develops individualized care plans, and drives program growth through business development and marketing efforts to expand outreach, and performance optimization.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Salary Range: $95,000-$100,000 (depending on experience)
- Employment Type: full-time, exempt position with benefits

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all aspects of the Personal Assistant Services program, driving strategic initiatives, process improvements, and service excellence
- Partner with Business Development and Marketing to promote services, establish performance metrics, and evaluate growth opportunities
- Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and provide ongoing client support to ensure satisfaction and high-quality service
- Collaborate with recruitment and staffing teams to ensure efficient hiring, retention, and scheduling of Personal Assistants
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, manage staff performance through coaching and evaluations, and foster a high-retention environment
- Develop and implement training programs focused on skills, safety, and communication
- Facilitate interdepartmental collaboration, resolve client and staff concerns, and drive client retention
- Lead Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives to assess client satisfaction and enhance service delivery
- Ensure accurate record-keeping, reporting, and regulatory compliance
- Address client distress or safety concerns following agency protocols
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field
- At least five (5) years of experience working with older adults and in program management
- Must have prior experience managing a program or department, including operational oversight, strategic planning, and process improvement
- Previous supervisory experience is required, with a minimum of two years overseeing staff, including performance management, coaching, and retention strategies
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local reporting requirements and regulations in elder care
- Understanding of Jewish traditions, holidays, customs, and cultural sensitivity when working with clients of diverse backgrounds
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using electronic health records (EHR) and home care management software
- Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record as driving is an essential function of this position, involving regular travel across all five JFCS service regions throughout the Bay Area, which cannot be reasonably accommodated through alternative transportation methods
