FAST THERAPIST - GAINESVILLE
Job Summary:
To assess clinical needs of parents, caregivers, and children served by JFCS Child Safety staff and provide individual, family and couple therapy based on the assessed needs of the individual and/or family.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Masters degree in Social Work , Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience: 2 years experience counseling children and families preferred. Knowledge and skills in: Identification of abused and neglected children and adults; child development, individual and family functioning; working with hard to reach or resistant individuals and families; collaborating with other disciplines and services; skills in group dynamics and leading group discussions.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Licensed or license-eligible in the State of Florida (LMHC, LCSW or LMFT)
Primary Job Functions:
- Provides individual, group and family therapy to CPS families:
a) Completes clinical assessments with required information
b) Participates in the development of the CPS case plans
c) Completes and updates treatment plans as required
d) Documents to reflect all services provided
- Learns as much as possible about the culture of individuals served and recognizes the influence his/her own background has on his/her understanding and response to cultural differences when interacting with individuals.
- Develops, maintains, updates and completes appropriate clinical records to include treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, addendums, progress notes and bio psycho-socials in a timely manner and in accordance with record management policy.
- Participates in consultations with CPS staff, DCF CPI staff and supervisor concerning individual cases as needed.
- Works with all staff involved to ensure services are delivered in support of the family's case plan
- Participates in CPS case staffings to discuss the individual/family's progress or response to therapy.
- Assists in program development and planning as requested or required.
- Attends trainings, in service sessions, staff meetings and clinical supervision as required.
- Assists in Quality Improvement issues as requested or required.
- Develop and maintain therapeutic relationship with families and children
- Complete other duties as assigned.
