Job Summary: The Training & Quality Improvement Coordinator will develop and instruct staff under client services within Waiver, ICF, and Day Support programs. This role includes spearheading special projects within the department, especially when they arise from quality improvement efforts. The Training & Quality Improvement Coordinator will be responsible for having expertise in compliance with DODD and Medicaid rules and regulations.
Key responsibilities:
- Develops a quality improvement/compliance system for all Developmental Disability (DD) services, in collaboration with other staff within the agency.
- Maintains up-to-date information on rules, regulations, and other compliance issues to ensure that all DD sites and programs maintain compliance in all areas.
- Organizes, coordinates, and administers training and development programs for management and Direct Support Specialists, as per state regulatory bodies.
- Assures that training and development of staff align with programmatic goals and objectives.
- Evaluates department training and implement improvements/changes where necessary.
- Provides oversight and training in the area of client health and safety (including MUI reviews), in collaboration with other agency staff
- Organizes the development of departmental policies and procedures as needed, in collaboration with the Residential Services Director.
- Assists in representing the dept. regarding provider organizations (e.g., OPRA), county boards, and other external entities, in collaboration with the Residential Services Director.
- Interacts professionally with families of consumers.
- Demonstrates awareness of and follows all safety policies and procedures and adheres to all recommended practices. Also contributes to the control of hazards within specified areas of responsibility.
- Participates in the administrative on-call system.
- Works in shifts providing direct client care when necessary.
- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
