Event Coordinator
The Jewish Federation of Lee & Charlotte Counties strives to create meaningful and diverse programs and events that engage and celebrate the Jewish Community. This role is critical to accomplishing the mission of the Jewish Federation of Lee & Charlotte Counties.
Position Overview
As our Event Coordinator, you'll be the vital component behind every function, from small meetings to large celebrations. Your role will oversee the planning and execution of events that align with our mission and strategic vision. This role requires a creative, proactive, and organized individual who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community members to ensure the highest level of customer service and community engagement. This is a part-time, in-person position, with a flexible schedule. The salary range is $20-$25/hour, commensurate with experience, with paid time off and holiday pay. This role could become a full-time position, upon demonstrated success in building and executing high-quality programming. The position reports to the Executive Director.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate all logistical aspects of programs, social events, and fundraising activities.
- Collaborate with committees, volunteers, event sponsors, and partner organizations.
- Maintain event planning timelines
- Create centerpieces/decor, swag bags signage, and more.
- Collaborate with marketing staff to guide publication of event invitations, registration pages, and marketing collateral.
- Create and submit Security detail requests.
- Maintain programming master calendar.
- Respond to event-related questions.
- Maintain spreadsheets for event budgets and attendance.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to support events.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all.
REQUIRED
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in event planning, program management, or a related role.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Critical thinking, proactive identification of roadblocks, and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility, ability to work under pressure, ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Social Media.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
PREFERRED
- Experience working in a non-profit or in a religious organization.
- Knowledge of Jewish customs, traditions, and holidays.
- Technical user knowledge about various event technologies and audio-visual equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Duties are primarily performed in an office environment while working at a desk and/or working at a computer.
- Frequent focus on a computer screen is required.
- The position may require travel within the counties of Lee & Charlotte.
- Some work will be performed outside of regular office hours.
- Shopping for and carrying supplies.
- Lifting of boxes (10 - 25 lbs) may be required.
