Summary
The Junior Accountant will support the accounting and financial operations of the Jewish Federation of Omaha by assisting with daily accounting tasks. The incumbent will contribute to process improvements, financial reporting, data analysis, and transaction processing while ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and distributing monthly financial statements.
- Monthly bank reconciliation.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings and journal entries.
- Managing the fixed assets process, including reconciling funding with purchases.
- Recording and reconciling entries for special and capital fundraising campaigns.
- Reporting and consolidating variance reports from agency directors.
- Performing various additional accounting tasks as directed.
- Assist with routine and ad-hoc projects as requested.
- Generate routine and ad-hoc reports as needed.
- Maintain reliable and predictable attendance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Summary:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with excellent problem-solving abilities.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with accounting software and programs.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and relevant laws.

Pay: $18.70 - $20.00 per hour
