What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Associate - Wolk Manor position at Jewish Home?
Pay Range: $18.00-$20.00 (Pay information will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position)
Full Time 40 hours Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm
GENERAL SCOPE: With guidance from management, assists in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating a series of resident centered activity programs tailored to meet Assisted Living Residents’ needs, desires and capabilities. Most of these programs will fit into the broad categories of cultural, creative arts, education, fitness and leisure. Activities will be scheduled for both inside the Wolk Manor facilities and around Greater Rochester.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION: B.S. preferred in Recreation Therapy, Physical Education or Leisure Management. AAS degree in Recreation or related field and one year experience in older adult services is acceptable. Must have a current, valid New York State Driver License.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Routinely assists in assessing residents’ interests to determine appropriate activities.
- For Wolk Manor and The Lodge, assists in planning, selecting, and assigning outside instructors for activities.
- Set up and clean up activity areas, ensuring a safe and inviting space for residents.
- Develops and distributes monthly activity calendars unique to enriched
- Assists in preparation of reports, studies and resident satisfaction
- May drive Summit vehicles or accompanies other drivers on scheduled resident
- Assists in coordinating Resident Council
- Collaborates with the Activities Associate at The Lodge and The Summit.
- All other job duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year experience in the recreation or leisure industry in working with older adults.
