Accounting Clerk

Position overview:

Jewish National Fund- USA seeks an Accounting Clerk whose primary duties are not limited to but listed below. This position reports to the Director, Accounts Receivable and works out of our Rockville Centre, NY office.

Responsibilities:

• Charge credit cards for donations and transactions.
• Process refunds and handle chargebacks.
• Call donors whose credit cards decline or request chargebacks.
• Record journal entries for recharges, refunds, chargebacks, reversals, and returned/replaced checks.
• Work with Senior Accountant on reconciling discrepancies with bank reconciliations for checks and credit cards
• Work in the following systems: Stripe, Salesforce, Rallybound, PayPal, and Financial Edge NXT.
• Continue to update and maintain the credit card manuals.
• Help transition additional backup support for monthly charges and credit card refunds.
• Assist with cross-training for credit card donations adjustments in Salesforce.
• Collaborate with Accounting team on monthly tasks and toll-free reconciliations.
• Assist Accounting with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Bachelor's degree

• Excellent interpersonal and teambuilding skills
• Keen organizational and analytical skills
• Strategic thinker and effective decision-making skills
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task projects
• Takes and provides supervision with respect and courtesy
• Experience with accounting software
• Knowledge of Salesforce or another database program a plus
