Young Judaea Sprout Brooklyn Day Camp, located in Red Hook, is a Hebrew dual-language camp for children entering Pre-K through 5th grade. The ideal candidate is excited about camp life and feels comfortable wearing multiple hats and will never say that a task “isn’t their job”.The Operations Director is a member of the summer Senior Leadership team and manages the crucial behind-the-scenes aspects of our summer camp program including all elements of daily transportation. We are looking for a responsible, organized, and mature individual for our Operations Director role. This is an extraordinary opportunity to work collaboratively with a passionate and fun-loving team.Staff Training is June 16, 17, 18, & 22. Camp runs from June 23rd – August 15th. Summer hours are Monday to Friday, approx. 7 : 15 am – 5 pm. There are approximately 50 flexible hours of pre-camp work beginning in the Spring including Camper Orientation on June 8th.ResponsibilitiesManage & Oversee Daily Transportation : Field trip transportationLiaison to the bus companyShare updated routes prior to each sessionProvide driver & route feedback as neededUpdate daily travel and attendance in Camp database based on parent communicationSupervision & Training of Bus CounselorsAssign staff to bus routesProvide daily route & attendance updatesCoordinate and track bus counselor attendanceParent communicationProvide regular updates to each bus route about timingAssist parents with travel change or route feedbackCamp Administration : Assist with the organizing of all camper & staff forms and relevant camp paperworkSupport the camp office as needed with lost & found, special events, supplies, etc.Serve as a key member of camp leadership team to help guide and direct Camp, including as part of the emergency response teamSupervise an intern (or team of interns) who will assist you in completing daily and pre-summer tasksAssist with general camp operation to ensure a smooth programmatic dayCover a group or specialty area as needed based on staff attendanceOther duties, “hats” as needed.Provide support or coverage to a camp group or specialty areaActively participate in camp-wide activitiesRequirements : BA or BS requiredExceptional attention to detailTech savvy.
