Larson Company, an independent distributor of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and DataComm products is expanding with this new site, joining our seven existing locations in Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Counter Sales Representative to become part of our team at our new Rochester, MN location! You’ll play a key role in boosting sales and ensuring customer satisfaction by assisting walk-in and phone customers in selecting the right products. You’ll use your technical expertise to meet customer needs, work closely with the outside sales team, and collaborate with other distribution team members to expand our customer base, create new opportunities, and meet or exceed sales quotas. Responsibilities Include:
- Write orders for walk in, phone, and email customers
- Assist with order pickups and keep up with calling queue
- Update displays and assist with product merchandising/facing and maintaining cleanliness of counter space and displays
- Research and problem solve customer orders
- Update internal notes on orders
- Answer product questions via phone, email, and in-person
- Inventory/location management of returns and stock items
- Partner with coworkers to complete tasks
- Promote vender-preferred, sponsored, and add-on items
- Support with coverage for inside sales
Qualifications
Education
- Highschool diploma or GED
Experience and/or Training
- Computer experience.
- Math skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations and to other employees of the organization.
- Self-motivated and self-starter
- Organized, strong time management skills. Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and collaborate within a multi-functional team.
- Strong problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills.
- A team player – work together with others to accomplish common goals of company.
- Detail oriented, organized, consistent, and tenacious.
- 2 years in a related customer service role preferred
- 1 year in progressive position (2 years preferred)
- Wholesale distribution and/or retail experience preferred
- 1 year related sales experience (knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC components is helpful)
Licenses/Certificates
- Valid US Driver’s license and/or reliable transportation
